Food and drink in Edinburgh is not hard to come by. All over the city you can expect to find plenty of cafes, restaurants, bars and pubs. There are a number of famous chains but also some unique and individual places too.
Try out some fabulous Scottish cuisine including haggis, fish and chips, deep fried pizza, black pudding and if you’re daring enough that famous deep friend mars bar. There are a number of upscale markets in the city of Edinburgh which are perfect if you fancy a treat.
Food and drink is also plentiful in many of the city’s pubs. Pubs in Edinburgh are everywhere but the best ones are located near the dock and in the old town. The pubs are great for getting some traditional pub grub and sampling some fine beers and ales as well.
Of course when you’re in Scotland food and drink is very important because it really is everywhere. However, Scotland is most famous for its whiskey so it must definitely be sampled. Pay a visit to the Scotch Whiskey Heritage Centre and find out about the history and do some testing.
