Nearby Towns and Cities
When in Edinburgh if you fancy a day trip then there are a number of Nearby towns and cities that are perfect for getting out of the capital. There are plenty of trains and buses that leave the city regularly and travel to the surrounding cities and towns.
Nearby towns and cities include Glasgow, Fife, Dunfermline, Aberdour, St Andrews and East Lothian. All of these places are charming and make either the perfect day trip or are great for a few days as well. In every place accommodation can be found easily.
The big cities of St Andrews and Glasgow are bustling like Edinburgh. St Andrews is picturesque and home to the famous university as well. There are plenty of opportunities for gold in this city. Glasgow is not a pretty city aesthetically but has plenty going on. There are many shops, pubs and great places to eat as well.
East Lothian is one of the favourite Nearby towns and cities because it boasts plenty of sunshine and surprisingly some wonderful sandy beaches. Surrounding this splendid town is also some unspoilt wonderful countryside which is great for long walks, biking and there also a number of golf courses.
Dunfermline and Aberdour are lovely places to visit as well. Aberdour is a small village which is absolutely stunning and a day trip here is a must. Dunfermline has some wonderful historic offerings and great places to eat.
